- Full name - Walter Elias Disney (1901-1966). Among his ancestors were English, Irish and Germans.

- Walter was born in a poor family and was the fourth child. Walt drew constantly: with resin on the white wall of the family home, on a blackboard, telling stories to his friends . His first 25 cents were earned for an¬† image – an exact copy of a neighbor’s horse.

- Disney became famous after the cartoon “Steamboat Willie”, the hero of which was Mickey Mouse.

- In 1937, Disney decided to release the animated cartoon “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (in those days it was thought that the cartoon may take up to 10 minutes). He invested huge sum in those days – half a million dollars – to the creation of “Snow White”. There was a phenomenal success with the audience. The film got Oscar award.

- In the early fifties Disney was voluntary FBI informant and informed on his friends regularly – the liberals, who, of course, did not know it. In the archives of the FBI is still kept a huge folder with his denunciations.

- Walt is a multiple Oscar winner. Disney’s record of 29 statues has not been beaten yet.

- He is the founder of “Walt Disney Productions”, which by now has become a media empire “The Walt Disney Company”.

- Walt Disney got America’s highest civilian award – the Medal of Freedom and the Medal of the League of Nations.

- There is the statement that Walt Disney, the author of Mickey Mouse, was afraid of mice. However, the story of this character creation contradicts this: Walt was inspired by the mouse, which was his pet on a farm.

- There is an opinion that Walt Disney was frozen. But this is not true: on December 17, 1966 his body was cremated and the ashes buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
